This series of photographs was taken during
a gathering of European users of a major database product during
the first week of April, 1995.
In this job, there were not only the usual
mix of computers, operating systems, and normal headaches, but we
also had a live two-way link to San Francisco via a Picturetel
video compression device operating over a pair of ISDN lines. All
these sources needed to be made synchronous so that the switching
to the projectors and videotape recorders was seamless.
At the conclusion of this project, Barbara
and I toured Firenze, the city selected for the conference, then
went on to Venice in the north and Sorrento in the south, where
we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
All of these images originated on Hi-8mm videotape.
